'Surf Machine' PSS

  1. This is a neat solution for a more DIY renting option of surfboards - one which I would use when going down to Coogee or Bondi. The shape suit the environment, but the wood backing would have been nicer is a lighter more 'fresher' wood tone. It is good that it is all electronic taking the need for someone to stand there but I would worry what would happen if someone did not put the board in properly and they got stuck, stopping the whole system. I could imagine seeing this down at the beach front.

  2. This seems to be a really cool idea. The rental system is a good idea for those that don't own a board or a casual surfers.
One improvement I'd suggest is to have some other graphics as well. Well done

  3. i really like this idea of a surfboard hire station. this will provide people with a product that brings so much joy and happiness to people. i find it also fantastic that it is environmentally friendly although a better interaction system and visuals will make it a lot better.

  4. This is a great idea. I really like the surf shack meets jukebox design. Very retro. This is a great idea for someone just wanting to learn to surf without the need to pay for a board straight up. A consideration would be vandalism. You could possibly change the glass paneling to be less prone to tagging and vandalism.

  5. I really like this design, I think you have really captured the target market with the housing design. I'm sure this PSS would have great potential. I'm sure there would be a huge market that would be interested in this system and i can see it taking off. Great job.

  6. Cool idea!

I think there is an actual need for this, and anything to stop landfill of glass board is a plus. There is obviously a lot of hidden technical detail that needs to be refined but I think it can be achieved quite cheaply with open source controller interfaces. And I think you can justify the use of technology, in the same way a hire company would invest in labour, storage and transport etc.

  7. This design addresses a very strong problem - many people wanting to surf but have no boards to do so, as well as addressing the notion that you don't need to own a board to experience the benefits if there's a way to rent them. It suits the brief very well and I believe that it can be a very worthwhile investment for any company to look into. Well done!

  8. nice idea, i'd love to hit the beach and rent a surfboard for a single use to see if i enjoy it before investing in a surfboard. This system has great potential. One suggestion could be since this is a very technological product it might benefit from some solar panels to help sustain the system.

  9. The detail used in the product solution is very good and the PSS, well I can see this a solution which can be impleemted in real life. I'd like to see some intergration of a solar panels as a power source and the issue of safety in regards to children climbing on the product.
